What age should they teach kids about sex?

What age did you become horny?

Honestly I don't think that's a subject for public schools to touch on.

They taught the boys and girls separate in my school though. Girls when they were ~14 and boys sometime in Highschool

What do you mean by "horny"? Because I became aware and curious about sex when I was, like, 7. But I didn't start desiring sexual stimulation or contact until I was about 17.

Some kids yes, others no.

It happened to my little brother. I remember seeing his homework about penis and vagina. He told me he wanted to become a pornstar when he grew up. He was 11 or 12 at the time I forget.

No, kids are horny shits to begin with. Can confirm; I used to be a kid.

The earlier parents discuss sex and sexuality with their children, the better. No, that doesn't mean telling your kids to go out and have sex, it simply means explaining basic biology, contraception, and why adults are so obsessed with the subject of sex.

Should it be taught in public schools? Absolutely. But it's not going to happen here in the U.S. anytime soon. Whenever these proposals come up, the loudest, most reactionary parents quickly shut down any discussion. Failing that, they homeschool their kids so they'll turn out to be just as reaction as their parents. But more than likely, they'll just end up as teenage parents with a substance abuse problem

Um, what? Yes they do. And at 5th grade at most.

Speaking from experience, I slowly but surely learned about that aspect of myself looooong before I was given the option to be taught about it in school.

Besides it being a somewhat controversial subject, I really don't see any need it wasting the effort on something they'll learn any way. As a homeschooler I was never taught sex ed, and my parents certainly didn't teach me.

Yes they do.

This is news to me. Although I guess these standards would vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. I grew up in the furthest regions of the Bible Belt.

I'd say kids need to be taught at 8 or 9. It needs to be several years before they start puberty. Girls and boys need to be taught together, not separately.

You need to teach them early so you can really hammer in the idea of safe sex, contraceptives, and just generally how puberty and reproduction work. That way, when they're old enough to physically be capable of getting or getting someone else pregnant, they're not completely clueless.

Boys and girls should be taught together so that their bodies aren't a complete mystery. I've had to tell college age men that women do not pee out of their vaginas and college age women that erections are not always voluntary (basically related to the idea that a woman can rape a man). It also helps them understand each other as people (so boys don't view girls as just something to be fucked and girls don't view boys as predators who only want to fuck them).

I'm actually asexual, so I don't really have a concrete answer for your second question.

They taught us in 5th grade. They gave the girls tampons or pads or something along the lines of that iirc, the only keepsake /the boys/ got was a pamphlet about shit like ejaculation and w3t dreams.
