I never really hear anyone talk about them.

How does a Buick Enclave compare to something like a Lexus RX?

I've never really understood the purpose of Buick in the GM tiers. Like just get a Chevy for a Joe Averageman car or her a Cadillac for something more on the side of luxury.
But yeah TC, Buicks are fine but I personally don't see any reason to get one.

My '94 Park Avenue was the love of my life, never had a car like that afterwards (it was actually my dad's car that he gave to me after I got my license).

The newer cars are really comfortable but I don't know how they are from a mechanical perspective. They've got some quirky little design aesthetics that I really like, too.

Also, tc if you are looking at Lexus you might as well save yourself some money on branding and go look at Toyotas (which is a Lexus with a T instead of L)

Depends on the car. There's no RWD Toyota sedan in the USDM, for example. Lexus had three.

GM vehicles have really stepped up.

I'm more of a fan of their Chevy line. The Malibu is a great car for the $$$.

I myself own a Sierra and absolutely love it.

People at work laughed at me because of my Buick but they stopped laughing when I took them out to lunch or gave them rides home. Yeah it's an "old person's" car but damn was it comfortable and it had some great features for its time.

Luxury cars are all cartoonishly fast for no reason nowadays. I'm not complaining, but it's not for everyone.

A 75 year old retiree who lives quietly in Arizona and drives to golf, bingo, and the bar is going to be looking at his options and wonder why on earth he would need his luxury car to propel him forward so quickly.

Therefore he looks at the Lacrosse and the Regal rather than an A4 or similar.

And no one steals from them when parked. And Cops don't see them while driving.

Honestly back in the day, I had three.
And the motors always kept up, but after a while, the niceties failed.
That 3.8 Lt V6 will do the job.
But the crappy headrest may snap your head off in a rear end collision.
If it could be called a hearest at all.

When I used to drive them, they were all pre 2000. Not sure what they are up to no a day, but Buick is one of the few last stands in GM's offerings.

Having said all that....Fuck GM for buying up and killing off SAAB.
~Fuck them for that.

Go with enclave, pretty high up on the luxury department above GMC or Chevy, repairs will be cheaper than Lexus, and Lexus drops in value more as time goes by. A 5 year old Lexus and a 5 year old accord are about the same price.

That applies to essentially all luxury vehicles though, not just Lexus. In fact, Lexus is one of the better brands in value retention - the German makes are even worse.

I've been thinking about a Lincoln MKZ. Has anyone had any experience with them since Lincoln re-imaged their line? I've driven a Towncar before but that was in the 90s.

Matthew Mcconaughey makes them look so cool.

I actually like how those modern MKZs look (~2013 or so). I've never driven one, but I'd make sure the one I'd get has the 3.7L engine with 300 hp and AWD.

GM vehicles have really stepped up.

Since when?

Last time I had to deal with them, they recalled my car and kept it for several months while they swapped the ingition switch. And the company got fined somewhere on the order of a couole percent of their daily profits for putting millions of people's lives in danger.

It was the fourth recall that car has had.

Garbage company that we should have let die. Don't even care about your friend's dad who works there. Ford should have openings thanks to the sudden surge of business.

I miss my 02 LeSabre. Most comfortable drive Ive ever owned. Great for getting road head!

Solid car and pretty reliable with routine maintenance. I miss that car dearly. Only reason I sold it was because I moved to the UK from the US.

My dad has a Buik encore. It looks tiny, but it's surprisingly roomy inside. There is hardly any trunk space tho.

Is that because it has 3rd row seating?

It's only a 5 seater. Seems like they sacrificed trunk space for a comfortable second row.

The only thing I dislike about Lincolns is their insistence on making the transmissions controlled by buttons on the center console. Not everything needs to be a button, dammit.
