I prefer the depiction of Spider-man where he's mature and one of the main conflicts with the character was how hard it actually is to maintain a normal life while also being a super hero, and the sacrifices he has to make with his life to keep being Spider-man, because he's driven by guilt to keep doing it.

I dislike the often "new" depiction of Spider-man as an immature kid who thinks being a super hero is fun and cool.

Well, first off, there are better Asian martial artists than Batman in DC and why you'd go with "Asian" is a little wtf. However, both Lady Shiva and Cassandra Cain (Shiva's daughter) are said to be better martial artists than Batman. More importantly, Spider-Man is also a scientist and invented his own webshooters and other gadgets specifically designed to take down enemies. And, of course, Batman didn't "work hard" to become a billionaire. He inherited his parents' money and company.

Spider-man is much more interesting to me, though I haven't enjoyed the movies much. Because...

This, yeah. I prefer adult or at least college-age Spider-man, where he's been doing it a while and is competent and confident, making all sorts of snarky jabs at people along with self-deprecating humor. And has to deal with a normal life and responsibilities, not just high school angst.

batman. as said he has better has better villains. now if I was going to fight crime for a living i'd rather be spiderman, but honestly I'd rather be batman and just retire or never start fighting crime.

It's no meme. He's *that* good. He's basically the One Punch Man of DC Comics because, if there's a weakness, he'll figure out and exploit it. Which, given that he routinely battles far outside his weight class going up against aliens, monsters, demons, and even gods, he kinda needs to be able to do shit like that.

I don't think I would. Maybe I could get along with Bruce... possibly. But not Bataan. I like him, but he probably wouldn't be too chatty. I feel like I coild be friends with Spider-man, though.

Because villains keep coming up, I should mention that I *prefer* Batman's rogues gallery but I'm not sure that he has the better rogues.

Norman Osborn is Joker and Lex Luthor rolled into one, a character not only with incredible potential but on that's also realized a lot of that potential at times. He's had a *lot* of successful runs, including as the Iron Patriot when he led the Dark Avengers. Nobody on Batman's roster comes close to that -- Bane has the potential but he's often played as a one-note villain. Arkham Origins might have been his most successful mainstream outing, although TDKR also portrayed his leadership abilities well.

That's not to say that the Joker isn't an incredibly versatile character, but you can't feasibly portray him going straight. You can with Penguin -- who successfully has had the appearance of going straight at times -- but somebody like the Joker only really works as a known villain.

Spidey also has Doc Ock who's had some occasionally... interesting storylines. The premise behind Superior Spider-Man was just flat-out stupid, but some of Doc Ock's changes were pretty neat and make me want to check out some of the run.

However, in general, both heroes have a handful of versatile villains/quasi-villains and then a lot of likable, but more limited rogues.
