Trump gets more harshly criticized because he's objectively a horrible human being. That's fair. You wouldn't see Joe Biden heavily criticized for this kind of thing but you also wouldn't see Republican John McCain criticized heavily for it because neither of them are horrible people (as far as we can tell). If a regular CEman without a terrible moderation history posts a topic that starts an unnecessary argument, we give him the benefit of the doubt.
