my taxes actually stay the same or i pay slightly more (<100 year) i pay less but also lose any deductions i could have claimed. so my effective tax rate remains at 33% on 35k a year

Do I support giving moderate tax cuts to the rich and blowing a massive hole in the deficit? Of course not.

blowing a massive hole in the deficit?.

Wut? This is adding to the deficit? Unless Im misunderstanding your usage.

This bill will add $1.5 trillion to the debt. Republicans are claiming it will somehow pay for itself. I don't know any economists who believe that. In exchange for the huge debt increase, companies and the rich get a tax break. Most people will see nothing or almost nothing. Also, while the company tax break is permanent, the break to individuals lasts five years.

Indifferent. I'm not sure how much I'm actually saving, since the state and local deductions are going away which is going to be painful given that I live in one of the worst states for taxes.

Because, you know, it's not like they can cut spending to balance a budget or something >_> Budgets can only be balanced by raising taxes and taxes need to be raised year after year to support that increased spending.

Otherwise, it's worth remembering that economists are more or less homogenous in their thinking so it's not always reliable because it's effectively groupthink. Which isn't to say that the cuts will stimulate enough growth to offset the reduction in revenue.

Absolutely. I'll be paying less in taxes and maybe, just maybe, we'll start to look at ways to reduce our spending instead of letting people breed and behave like animals.
