Because it's the least dumb explanation for Snoke even though it's still super dumb.

Snoke probably needs a whole film to himself just to make sense within the context of Star Wars which is a testament to how poorly he fits within the previously established narrative.

How is he confirmed dead? He's a sith Lord with power over life and death. Kylo did not kill him. That was all part of Snoke's plan. That was supposed to happen

There was a fan theory that Jar Jar Binks was going to be the surprise big bad guy of the prequels until Lucas was forced to nix that due to negative fan reaction.

Sith are known to be treacherous, which is why the rule of two became a thing. If a sith master was wise, he'd keep information away from someone who might kill him unless he had a way to keep himself from being attacked.
