All this work you guys do just to be turned down by girls you think you'll somehow magically attract because you diet/go to a gym.

Makes me lol.

I have been doing a 24 hour fast every 7 days for about 8 months now and swear by it. Originally I was trying to keep a keto diet and it was a good way to jump start it. I'm not strictly keto now but do eat low carb and pretty clean the rest of the time. The fasting makes me feel great for about a day afterwards.

I have tried a few different types of intermittent fasting and like the single long fast best. The 8/16 split is probably the easiest to maintain but I didn't feel the benefits as much. 6/18 was good too but after a few days it became hard to maintain for me.

Anywhere from 4-8pm is what I do. Nothing is set in stone though. If my family is going out to eat at like 2PM or something, then that is my one meal for the day.

Its just an easy way to maintain calorie restriction. Its difficult to eat all your maintenance calories in one meal if youre eating semi-normal food. You can easily out-eat your daily fast if your one meal is deep fried pizza with Oreos and ice cream. You can still lose weight eating that, but youll have to eat very small amounts. If you google Twinkie diet a guy did just that. Ate Twinkies and candy bars and still lost weight just by staying in a calorie deficit.

You have to maintain a 500 calorie deficit. My maintenance is 2,000 calories. I just eat about 1,500 calories per day. I usually dont even get to the 1,500 calorie mark. I usually get pretty full at around 1,300 calories.

It all boils down to calories in verses calories out. Intermittent fasting is a tool to use that helps balance that.

this is what i do when i'm cutting. I basically fast all day save for a gallon of water and a banana. I'll have a full meal when i get home from work roughly between 4-8 PM followed by a workout. Sometimes I'll save the meal for after the workout and have a protein shake and another banana beforehand but I'm trying to avoid shakes and the like at the current moment.

Your first three days youre going to feel like death. It starts to get easier on the fourth day, but youll still get very hungry.

Hunger is drastically diminished after two weeks.

At about 6 weeks I didnt even get hungry until it got close to my eating window.

You basically have to retrain your body that this is life now. Your body will adjust when it realizes that it now only eats once a day rather than snacking all day long.
