1) Signed up for AT&T to be our backup internet provider
2) Spectrum is our primary, but construction went way longer than expected 3) Got the service turned up in late July 4) Ordered a bandwidth upgrade from 200 Mbps to 250 Mbps because we only had a single 50 Mbps voice MPLS circuit at the time. We were worried about having enough bandwidth on the public internet side to reroute voice traffic through it. 5) AT&T shipped us a new managed router. We already had a managed router from them in place, so we didn't need this one. 6) Asked AT&T for a return shipping label for this extra router. 7) AT&T said they shipped the new router because the old one couldn't handle the new speeds. 8) I had them verify that the old router could handle the new speeds. Old router is a Cisco 4431 that is licensed to handle 1 Gbps and we were only going from 200 Mbps to 250 Mbps. 9) AT&T said they don't rely on Cisco's specifications. They do their own internal testing to determine how much bandwidth the routers can handle. 10) I asked what kind of testing they did because that doesn't make any sense. 11) They then found out they thought we had a 4331 instead of a 4431 (still doesn't make sense because you can license a 4331 to handle 500 Mbps, but whatever) 12) 3 months in, AT&T agrees that we don't need the 2nd router 13) Bandwidth upgrade cutover time comes, the AT&T engineer tries to get me to put the new router in place. I explain that the old router should work fine. He agrees. We do the cutover using the old router 14) I ask for probably the 20th time to get a return label. AT&T customer care says they'll send a box with the return label 15) I tell them I don' t need a box and that it'd be better for all parties if they could just email me a return label. The 2nd router is still in its original box. 16) They say they can only send a box out. 17) Two weeks later we get the box. All it has in it is a crapload of bubble wrap and a plastic bag containing a return label and return shipping instructions. 18) I put the old box inside the new box and ship that s*** back The only risk now is that the piece of paper with the return instructions had a line that said "we have received your request to cancel your MIS+ service." I called them and made sure that they weren't going to cancel our service because of this router return and they told me they wouldn't. So I swear if they cancel our shit, I'm gonna be pissed. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!
