Justice League's current box office domestic total is 219 Million....Star Wars: The Last Jedi just MADE 220 Million in it's FIRST WEEKEND!!

The 300M over budgeted movie is even disappointing offshore as it's only made 414 million and all of its major territories have already opened, including China..

The movie needed to make 700M just to break even and now it doesn't look like it'll even reach that..

5 Super Heroes didn't do better than the individual films that these movies made..

Warner Brothers has already shifted dates on their DC movies and it appears Zack Snyder is indeed on his way out

See the problem with how DC did it was there wasn't a feeling of connectedness to everything that Marvel achieved early on.

Justice League should've came out no earlier than 2020 and only after they had at least one solo film for each character

Snyder doesn't realize that for a dark gritty movie to work, it still needs to have some humor and fun moments in it.

That's why Watchmen was better received than the rest of his stuff; as dark as the source material is, it still has some nice moments between Nite Owl and Silk Spectre.

its relative to the expectations for the movie and the initial budget of the movie. the budget was like $300 mill...for a box office blockbuster movie of this stature....its considered a "flop".

- Man of Steel was trying too hard to repeat the Nolan Batman movies but the character doesn't suit it at all. It was just a dull movie with dull characters
- BvS was a cynical mess of a movie. The plot was bad and none of the characters were likeable at all. It tried to set-up future movies and ride on iconic moments from the comic books and absolutely botched both. This movie is where the franchise started to plummet. The issues are just numerous.
- Suicide Squad was okay but was a rushed mess. Just totally mediocre. Joker sucked. Outside of that the movie just felt pretty generic even though it was a movie about a team of villains forced to be heroes.
- Wonder Woman was great. It managed to avoid all of the above crap
- Justice League was again a mess. Snyder left production during filming so you have a weird movie that feels cut up and slapped back together. A lot of the movie is clearly trying to respond to BvS feedback but it's also meant to be the payoff from that movie. It's in a really awkward position and you can feel that the movie hasn't really earned what it's trying to deliver

The idea isn't just for a movie to make its money back

The idea is for a movie to make its money back plus cover at least the production cost for its sequel or next movie in the franchise.

So a $300M movie would need to make $300M + another $300M(to cover the sequel) + another solid $150-250M(to cover advertising and promotional money spent on the film) for it to not be considered a financial flop.

It's not just about making your money back. It's about being able to make and wholly finance another movie with what you earn
