Investigators believe the victims dogs, described as pit bulls, initiated a violent attack on Stephens while she was out walking them.

"The victim had defensive wounds on her hands and arms trying to keep the dogs away from her, which would be consistent with being attacked while she was still alive, Agnew told reporters during a Friday afternoon news conference.

The first traumatic injuries suffered by the woman were to her face and throat area, he said, adding that she suffered puncture marks to her skull. She lost consciousness after being taken to the ground and the dogs then mauled her to death, according to the sheriff.

Agnew described the dogs big, "strong and powerful. Each weighed about 125 pounds, about the same as their owner.

A preliminary report from the medical examiners office indicated Stephen was killed by the pit bulls. The investigation remained ongoing.

The dogs must have kept them in conditions that would entice them to flip out on her, like that dude that got mauled by his pitbulls while conducting a BBC interview. Always best to wait for more info before assuming a dog would just eat its owner for absolutely no reason.

Because they have strong jaws. Strong jaws doesn't automatically preclude them to hurting people, the conditions that they're kept in does. If you set out to make your pitbull a vicious guard dog then that's exactly what you're going to get.

If you wanna go that route, then why not just keep a tiger as a pet? I don't keep a tiger as a pet because of the gigantic claws and teeth. I prefer having pets that can't kill me if they're slightly agitated.

Plus there's tons of dogs that are smart and loyal that DON'T kill people even though they can. Like German Shepherds.

This is not true. Tigers raised from birth domestically as housecats will behave exactly like housecats. The reason you don't keep them as pets is because they behave exactly like housecats but are 100x stronger.

Same deal with something like a Chihuahua and a Pitbull.

"For no good reason" doesn't take into account owners ignorance or equivocation of the conditions that the dogs are kept in. If you leave your dog outside in extreme temperature conditions all its life, starve it, beat, and just neglect it on a regular basis despite telling yourself that you're an amazing pet owner, you're gonna get a dog that flips out on you "for no reason".

The vast majority of fatal dog attacks are done by pitbulls. Sure, pitbulls account for only a tiny amount of all dog attacks, but when a dog attack results in death, it's vastly more likely a pitbull is the one that did it.

Meanest, most aggressive, asshole of a dog I've ever met was cocker spaniel. Pampered little fuck, too, with no reason to act that way.
