Not sure if Dawkins is having a mental breakdown or if people didn't care enough about his real life stuff so he started posting generic random CE shit ala veggy for more attention.

They're useful sources of entertainment and companionship, so I guess I agree, since if they weren't those things then they'd be lame friends.

You have proven time and again that you completely lack empathy, you have an inflated sense of self and self importance. And right now, the only reason to have a friend, is what you can get out of them. You are admitting that friends are a means to an end, you don't care about the person at all, as long as they are "useful" to you.

Well traditional primate social networks do not have more than, what is it, 15 things similar to them? We have not evolved that far and have limited mental capacity for social networks. Too many people creates a situation that is not easy to manage and as a result all friends or people you are around on a normal basis should serve some purpose to make your life better or else you can better use your limitations by replacing them with someone who can make your life better. This is all just common sense.
