Their race or gender didn't even make it a relevant part of their character, people would've complained if it did.

So if it didn't impact anything, why does it matter if we had minorities or not? Should we have just made them white?

exactly, but i read a lot of people screamed "sjw bullshit". And i think this is even worse as it applies to asians than to black people

Which is what mystifies me about the outrage. Like I'd be on board with people being bugged if Finn was taking knees to protest the anthem or had a "hands up dont shoot moment" or if we had a girls are better than boys moment with Rey, but none of that happened.

Having competent females doesn't make a movie misandrist, if you argue Rey is a mary sue then that's more of a symptom of bad writing. The mere inclusion of other ethnic actors doesn't make a movie "SJW," race doesn't even matter in the Star Wars verse either. But I guess it was also pandering when Lando was Black right?

It doesn't make it misandrist, but they have to make her OP in order to avoid allegations of misogyny.

In TFA, it would have made sense for her to lose to Kylo or have to retreat, but that can't happen because it would have been sexist for to lose to a man.

And I haven't seen TLJ yet, but I would bet that unlike Luke or Anakin in previous trilogies, she doesn't lose a limb or get maimed because there would be backlash about the movie "promoting violence/brutality against women".
