I always really liked it, but I just rewatched it for about the 4th time and I think even the humor I used to think fell flat really landed this time. Plus every character gets substantial development and some cathartic emotional ending to an arc.

I honestly think the newer Marvel films are trying way too hard when it comes to the humor and quip ever since Avengers 1. Not saying it's a bad thing, but I've been noticing it.

The first one is my second-favourite Marvel film, after Deadpool. Guardians 2 bored me to death. I liked the SW prequel movies more.

The prequels are good but nowhere near as good as gotg2 imo. But they get way too much hate. Maybe they'll be appreciated now that TLJ is unequivocally the worst SW movie. But that's another topic.

I think the first Guardians was a damn near perfect movie. The 2nd, I wouldn't say that for a lot of reasons. It's amazing what they accomplished, but I felt like 2 wasn't on the same level as the first.

It's fine. The problem is not just the humor falling flat, it's just that there's a LOT of it, and it often goes on for a little long (that "does anyone have any tape" part was Family Guy levels of gruelling).
