This poll is only about if you thought the star wars movies where lucas was in creative control were the best.........

......or when others were calling the shots. And on a side note, yes i've seen the newest star wars movie and i thought it was really good and also liked the tfa, probably liked those 2 more than the ones where lucas was in control.

i think kershner only directed 1 star wars movie. I also think that during the first 3 star wars movies even if lucas wasn't directing he still had a lot of say so even with kershner directing as opposed to no input at all over the latest 3 star wars movies

No. In fact, there's a strong argument to be made that the more creative control Lucas had, the worse the movies turned out.

The originals weren't a Lucas solo work; they were line-edited by his wife at the time, Marcia Lou Griffin. More than a few cast members from that trilogy credit Marcia with a lot of what made the original Star Wars great, as she would take Lucas's imaginative but clumsy ideas and file the edges off them. In particular, she did a lot of work on the character dialogue, which tends to be one of Lucas's weak points.

They divorced around the time RotJ was released. It's quite apparent that there was no one there to fill those shoes during the prequels (or, if there was, Lucas was overruling them), and those are almost unquestionably Star Wars's weakest entries. Say what you will about the movies that have been released since the Disney takeover, but they are at least competently acted and scripted.

What an underappreciated writer. :(
