like it's entirely because they went on their quest the bad guys learned of the escape plan that got more of the resistance killed.

A superior does not need to explain themselves. Poe had been demoted in the beginning of the film. She clearly mentions early on that hes the type to be impulsive, which he was and it sending Finn/Rose to penetrate the First Order cost lives.

I also quite enjoyed Kylos arch. He overthrew his master.
