There may be one or two who legitimately believe, but it seems to be mostly a ploy to garner support, and votes. Just look at all the Christian-Republicans who have been caught cheating with other women, cheating with other men, soliciting sex in the men's room of a major airport, and lets not forget sexual assault. They are obviously paying the religion lip service, and not much else.
