But I liked all the character arcs, a bunch of scenes were badass, a couple of twists and reveals genuinely caught me off guard, and the acting from several characters was top notch (notably Kylo and Luke). And if that's it for Phasma, god damn what a waste Leia dying in that early scene would have been harsh, but it would have made sense. When they just write her off the movie in the crawl for episode IX it's gonna be disappointing, Rey is just a descendant of nobody? Kind of anticlimactic. Snoke? What was his deal? Will we ever find out? Probably not Bright points. Adam Driver was great in this one. Script gave him a lot more to work with than just being an angsty teen like in TFA but he really ran with it. Bringing back Yoda might be to remind the casuals that force ghosts are a thing. Maybe Luke, Yoda, and Obi Wan all help out Rey in IX?
