As I understand FCC rules, they are required by law to have at least two members (out of five) from each party. Pai was appointed at the recommendation of Mitch McConnell, and I doubt any Republican in his position would have voted differently (see the other two Republicans on the board)

Now, where we can get on Democrats is that net neutrality would be much safer if it had been passed into law rather than decreed by an executive agency.

Good, I want my politicians to be swayed by overwhelming public opinion. Idk why everyone expects politicians to be born with all the right answers anyways. Like Hillary not supporting gay marriage till 2013. Yknow why? Cuz America didn't support it. Heaven forbid our elected representatives actually represent us and not just stubbornly stick to their original opinion no matter the amount of public backlash or contradictory evidence.

Hey if you're a fan of Hillary changing viewpoints every time the wind changes direction, more power to you. No need to throw an aggressive hissyfit about it.

Because the current president and his support is entirely incapable of understanding such a simple concept?

Lol gamefaqs (and America) in a nutshell.

We have conservatives who still want to arrest gays and continue the civil war, and liberals who defend pure socialism and freaking communism. There's some debates not even wars can settle.

Depends on the motivation for the change. Overwhelming public opinion is a lot different than "every time the wind changes direction". And she's changed her mind for more nefarious reasons that I don't agree with.

I mean you tried to tell me how I think, you were wrong and I'm letting you know. Idk how else to explain it to you.

I made a critical comment about a flipflop of Obama's and you started off a tirade about how people expect politicians to never change their opinions on anything. If it wasn't in response to me, aka insinuating that's what I think, I'm not sure why it was relevant as a reply to me.

Did he change. Where did he say he was against NN before changing to be for it?

Such a move would have had to go through congress, where perhaps public outrage and a few stray Republicans would have slowed or stopped the bill.

So he didnt comment on it until he learned more about it and eventually did the best thing for the country. Youre trying too hard.

Pai is a great guy.

He has GOOD reasons to repeal the POS net neutrality.

Good for him, I'm proud.

I was one of thousands that reached out to our senators in support to repeal NN, so I'm happy trump agrees. He's a step in the right direction.

Plus, Obama agrees with getting rid of NN, so kudos for him to think ahead

So you're admitting that you think it was wrong for a politician to be swayed by overwhelming public opinion. That's what I'm saying you're wrong about. Again, all the answers are there if you just take tome to read. Not all flip flopping is bad. The flip flopping you criticized was due to overwhelming public opinion. I explained why it's stupid to criticize anyone for that. You went on to straw man that into me defending every instance of flipflopping. I explained why that was stupid. Now you're accusing me of accusing of criticizing every instance of flip flopping, and I've just explained why that was stupid.

Seems like there's no more straw man arguments to refute, so maybe just give it up.
