Why don't we have mammals that don't have penis or vaginas?

It's one of the defining characteristics of mammals. All female mammals have milk-producing breasts as well. Even dolphins and such.

Why do reptiles/birds have more variations?

Mammals are more recently evolved, I'm guessing? While reptiles and birds have been around longer to diversify their sexual organs?

Dolphins' nipples are enclosed in small slits on each side of the vagina. Crazy, huh?
