Because I stumbled upon one of my backpack's many, many pockets and came across a nature valley bar (in a fully closed wrapper) that was CRAWLING with ants.

Needless to say, I separated all of my non-food items into a bin and threw everything else in there away and sprayed the fuck out of that backpack with a hose for 10 minutes. And I just put it in my washer with a ton of detergent and fabric softener because I sure as fuck don't want any ant queens turning my expensive backpack into a mobile colony.

I hope this doesn't fuck up the machine >_>

I didn't think this through.

I don't see why it would. i've put far worse into a washing machine and it was fine. i'm assuming this is a pretty standard backpack?

Yeah, I paid a good deal of cash for it a few years ago. I think it's a Swiss... something. It has that plus sign thing on it.

Depends entirely on the washing instructions on the label. You wouldn't wash a leather/suede backpack, but any poly/vinyl/plastic whatever is just fine

i'd be more worried about the back pack being ruined. unless there is a lot of metal in the thing. and I mean a lot I doubt it would harm your washer. i'm no expert but my brother and I wore tripp jeans in highschool those have a lot of metal in them for a pair of pants. our washer was fine.
