But then they announced plans for Squadron 42, and plans to sell it as a separate game. Crytek sent them notifications that this isn't covered under the license but CIG went ahead anyways. They're now being sued for breach of the Cryengine GLA. Looks like Crytek has a very solid suit, and even if CIG somehow wins, this is going to be a PR disaster for them because this will be a hugely expensive case that they'll be forced to dip into crowdfunding money for. <cite>OctilIery posted [p:892158821] in RIP Star C... Think of it like someone renovating a huge house, but rather than taking it piece by piece they keep seeing new things they want to do and keep pouring money into new renovations without finishing the old ones.
