I mean I fully support people's right to do this at home but they should not be allowed in restaurants. Like there should be some kind of branding you receive that permanently bans you from all nice independent restaurants but still lets you go to applebees or whatever

Medical necessity should be the only reason to order a well-done steak. As in, one should have to have a medical bracelet or card indictating immunosupressants or the like.

You know what this is? Well-done. Anything beyond well-done is a charred piece of nasty fucking leather.

But the internet seems to think that this combination of features is a paradox.

So when I order meat I make sure to say "medium-well," because that's the only way they cook it right.

I'm sure the people in the restaurant who have cooked 500 steaks a week for the past 10 years know how to get a steak to the right level, it's probably more just a case of not wanting to deal with those aggro people who cause a commotion because their steak still has signs of having been organic tissue at some point

You're free to enjoy steak however you want, but going to a good steakhouse and ordering a well-done steak is essentially the same as paying for HD channels when you only have an old black and white cathode TV. You're paying extra for something that you can't enjoy given the format in question. You need a modern TV to enjoy high-definition, you need a medium or lower cooked steak to enjoy the qualities of high grade steak. That's not an opinion, it's a simple fact and something that all chefs agree about.
