I swear to God most games you'd only bother finishing if you were too poor to move on to another game. Most games are just the same bullshit from the first hour until the end and none of them are 10/10.

Seriously considering just playing Civ 5. Devs don't understand that people want well directed 20-30 hour games, not 400 hour slogs.

Same for me. Except that I did not like the character models, so I got a mod to fix that. And nothing else. But, the armour and clothing kinda didn't play well with the new models, so I had to get armour and clothing replacers. And nothing else. But, then I began collecting so much stuff, I didn't have anywhere to put it all. So I downloaded player housing mods.

dont let that deter you from dead space. 1 has some issues, but imo 2 is one of the best action-horror games ever made, almost up there with RE4.

for the most part the whole series controls like that (up to 5) minus the camera placement. it can feel a bit archaic now, but as long as you can get your head over no moving while shooting they tend to hold up pretty well and the game is entirely designed around that movement and control system. if youre using the mouse just remember to not use it for anything other than aiming (well and for panning, but get used to one thing at a time) and it will help.

RE4 is dated in some ways, but also still does things most modern action games now cant seem to get right.

theres a very solid case for saying that about 2. 1 however just had way too many issues in comparison. just in case the tc might play them..the repeated environments wore thin, repetitive enemies with no real diversity and barely any unique setups in how theyre presented with an obscene amount of monster closets made the whole thing daunting after a while. some of the worst turret sequences there is as well. the game is good, but feels like a slog at many points. 2 maybe cut back on the haunting atmosphere, but holy shit did it improve on everything else.
