Like if you drank a lot of alcohol

Does drinking a lot of water quicken how it gets diluted away or something?

Becuase my liver has now turned into a giant potato and my kidneys are singing the slovak national anthem and my czech organs are trying to kill them. And I'm canadian.

Drinking water after you're already hungover is still helpful, but only marginally so. Drinking water while you drink alcohol makes an actual difference.

not really, other than the fact that drinking water maybe slows the amount of alcohol you are actually drinking.

From a hangover perspective it does, as dehydration is the primary cause of a hangover and alcohol is a diuretic, so replenishing fluids while drinking can reduce the symptoms.

Drinking water won't sober you up, but it will help with the hangover the next day. Dehydration causes a lot of hangover symptoms, so if you drink water it will obviously help.

Sure, but I'm under the impression that TC is asking if it will help sober you up faster, not lighten a hangover.

Which is why Admiral said it was only MARGINALLY helpful because it'd help shorten the duration of the hangover. I don't think he was actually disagreeing with you.
