Sarah Illig was snorkelling in the Caribbean when a 5ft Nurse shark sinks its teeth into her She is heard shrieking in horror as she swims as fast as she can which isn't very fast towards her husband Evan Carroll holding the camera. Less than a second later I realised how much it hurt and looked past where my goggles were blocking my side vision to see the shark bigger than myself latch on to my arm. Sarah from Charleston, South Carolina, US, said she pulled her arm free as the shark released its grip. The couple were enjoying their honeymoon, and Sarah said she assumed it was her husband playing a prank on her. Explaining the footage, she said: My husband and I are in the Caribbean on our honeymoon.She added: This is a five foot nurse shark that typically never bite unless provoked via tail pulling, feeding, etc There was no tail pulling or feeding during my snorkel with them, as you can clearly see via video. Nurse sharks are a popular attraction with tourists in the Caribbean, who can pay to swim with them. Travel guide Atlas Obscura describes them as very friendly animals who wont gnaw off your leg as they normally feed on little critters from the sand.
