This is what I'm saying. If plea deals are given to the people actually on video abusing that dude, then Chicago can go to hell.

It spares the victim from having to testify at a trial (which can be traumatic). This is the reason why many child sexual assault cases are plea bargained down even when there is tangible evidence supporting the sexual assault allegation.

Kidnapping alone is roughly 20 years or more, depending on prior convictions. The fact that they kidnapped a person and then proceeded to torture said person, and as a hate crime rivals that at least.

My guess would be her plea includes a confession on whose idea it was in actually kidnapping the victim and who was involved in that. I really don't want to watch the video, so from what I understand she wasn't involved in the physical attack? Was she there from the start and involved in the coordination of the event I suppose would be my next question. If you're going to nail some of the others with kidnapping charges where you may have not been able to do as such, I can see why the prosecution offered that deal. I still think she got an extremely light sentence, but without knowing more and seeing how the others are prosecuted it's tough to say.

Usually the first to sing gets the sweetheart deal though.

Why are you comparing the two cases? The only similarity is they are both hate crimes. Injustice here doesnt mean the other case was absurd with their sentencing. If your argument is that her sentencing is wrong you wont find many that disagree with you. You trying to say wow and bacon is worth 15 years lol! Is what people are taking aim at. It wasnt just bacon and the way it was worded made it sound like that case is being downplayed. There is no reason to bring up that other case except to say this is closer to what I feel she SHOULD have gotten.

It doesnt bother me I just feel youre being disingenuous. Again the person in that case didnt just throw bacon around. There were other things involved. I agree about using precedence but the way that case was brought up in this topic was more and bacon gets you 15 years lol! Making it sound like they thought THAT was too much in comparison to this. Its the other way around. This is too little in comparison to that but I doesnt mean that case was absurd. That was a deserved sentence.
