I've grown up in Texas for most of my life, so I'm used to the mesquite/smoky/slightly spicy BBQ sauce. My mom grew up in Memphis, TN, so she's used to the smoky/sweet kinds of BBQ sauce. They served BBQ for lunch at work and had some BBQ sauce from the Carolinas. It's a much brighter tangier taste, and it's pretty good, too.

This video shows some North Korean refugees trying American BBQ for the 1st time with different kinds of BBQ sauce. Rudy's BBQ sauce is pretty much the kind of BBQ sauce I'm used to.
