I will take my son to watch this in theaters, if nothing else but to bond over some pokemon movie on the big screen.

Damn, guess his voice acting isn't good enough to bring back older viewers of pokemon.

If nothing else, this movie doesn't seem to be made by the usual animation company in charge of pokemon. In fact, i mightt be wrong, but this movie seems to be being produced by American film studios rather than Japanese.

Not sure if this makes it watchable, though.

I haven't followed much, but this is a new pikachu with a teenaged girl companion solving mysteries

Even as a kid my interest in Pokemon was not because of Pikachu and I would've had zero interest in it.

I probably won't enjoy this movie if his voice is altered to sound like a chipmunk.
