The beginning of the end for crypto.

@clearaflagrantj
@Krojen

Scalability about to tear Bitcoin a new ass hole just like I predicted. Sell while it's high!

Could've linked the actual announcement in case people start calling bullshit on that twitter.

How did they not see this would be a problem?

Sure it's hard to manage.

Not the end.

It's new people don't understand it nor do companies.

The volatility is just a part of it.

The other (more damning) part is that Bitcoin (and crypto in general) are extremely inefficient power-hungry means of moving money around. Over time it just gets more inefficient. Slower, more expensive, etc. It cannot scale, so it will die.

I never knew steam accepted it.

Kinda like how you never knew how to use an exchange of any kind or trade cryptocurrencies without fees.

I'll continue to use usd to bitcoin to offshore purchase fast and fee free where I can, while I can, to save money.

it is impossible to trade crypto with no fees. your specific use case is completely out of the norm and does not disprove that lmaoooo

ready to get spanked by scalability?

I don't hold/invest in bitcoin, so scalabiltiy is irrelevant to me. If they figure it out, good for them. If not, the worst case scenario is I'm back to paying stupid credit card fees for my unique purchases.

My use case for buying offshore research chemicals and sportsbooks is unique.

What isn't unique, is buying and selling cryptocurrencies on the most popular and reputable exchange - that can be done fee free. Even you know that by now.

there are fees to buying, trading, and exchanging crypto. on gdax there are taker fees, and most people who trade crypto will be paying that. it's not free broseph. you can get some rebated but ultimately you still pay. and over the long run that .25% or .1% can become a lot of money as BTC goes up

who cares about your offshore enriched plutonium or w/e

btw keep in mind that people who trade one crypto for another pay network fees too

.005 eth for eth trades might not sound like a lot but if eth goes to $10,000....

I haven't sold a dime.

I actually bought a bit of BTC this morning planning on exchanging it for XRB, but I got lazy and thankfully so because it saw that 20% gain today :)

And what are the maker fees? Meaning limit orders, something anyone can use to buy/sell cryptocurrency on the exchange. What are the fees for those on gdax?

That's more true for stocks. One of the many reasons bitcoin is more popular than stocks among young people is how little money you can put in it and watch it explode as bitcoin doubles every couple months.

They'll just have to start accepting something that's not complete shit like Litecoin or something, no biggie

Wouldn't that be really easy now with the atomic swap thing? I forgot how that works
