ETHBTC ratio is getting absolutely battered.

It's absurd how badly BTC is leaving everything in the dust.

Best case scenario BTC flies up to something stupid like 40K and corrects to 20K and all the alts recover to their typical ratios.

1. It's only $60M

2. It's a failure of Nicehash, Bitcoin is unaffected

It kind of is a scam though. Because it's hard to actually manage it properly, and it's a bit more complicated to make tons of money from it. Unless you bought a shit load of it at start and just sat on it.

If I was going to invest in something that would actually be a wiser choice. It would be something like an IRA or an actual investment portfolio.

Exactly. That's what's worked for decades, people just want fast money. I can't wait to hear the "back to rags" story of a rags to riches bitcoin buyer. Just like the lottery.

PEople believe a lot of stupid things. There are still people who believe the Earth is flat. People believing something is true means nothing.

Real money is also involved in Holistic medicine, most of which is a scam. And Steam stopped accepting Bitcoin to the confusion of literally everyone because they didn't know they ever accepted it. The only thing you can buy with Bitcoin is porn, sexdolls, and illicit transactions on places like the Silk Road's successors.

This sounds like an advertising slogan.

I wouldn't dwell on it too much. I knew about it for years too. But, knowing myself, I figure if I bought it early I likely would have sold it for whatever profit I could take after the Mt Gox fiasco.

Don't get on board that's fine.

But I think it's just plain stupid to think crypto currency isn't a thing. It's not going away it has way too much momentum and block chain solves a lot of problems we have seen and experienced with current money.

From what I have read and it may be a bit old school is this. There is nothing wrong per say with putting money into speculation/gambling. You just have to know when to walk away, and know how much you are willing to lose.

People right now putting all their hopes in dreams into it.. Are going to wonder where all that money went, because of how Bitcoin or any crypto currency works. But, if you put like say $50 -$100 bucks in it and just let it sit for awhile and it went down in value. You wouldn't lose that much money in the long term. It should be treated like a casino. You walk in with $100, and walk out when the $100 is gone. That way you don't end up bankrupting yourself.

Also, the world usually doesn't treat people who get rich quickly that well in the long term.

Crypo Currency is a thing. I get that but I have a legit question about actually cashing out.

Let's say I have 10 bitcoins right now. What is the process that I would take, how long would it take and how much cash would I walk away with. Lets assume the 14k value for easy even numbers. This has always been something I am curious about how easy it is to actually cash out.

It's easy enough for smaller amounts. You cash out at an exchange that will let you trade it for US dollars. Or you could find private buyers which would require trust between the two of you.

Think of the cryptocurrencies as gold that you would keep in a safe somewhere and the exchanges as coin shops that will buy it from you for US dollars.
