People who are upset that shareholders may benefit from increased corporation profits generally are so because they want a better economy and want improved living conditions for lower class people, not just themselves.

Sure, they can become shareholders (if they're not already), but that doesn't solve the problem. It just shields them from the larger consequences (if they actually make money as shareholders, that is).

It's a very selfish way of thinking and not the right way to govern. How can you help the largest group of people with the resources you have, not just a select few.

That's because many conservatives do not consider wanting to keep more of the money they earned themselves "selfish," they consider the people who want their money who didn't work for it the "selfish" ones.

Do they earn it? Few of these 'top earners' make money by actually working. They make it trading in financial properties. It's not like their producing things that contribute to the general well-being of society. And their profits were in no way endangered. They grow and continue to grow themselves consistently. They don't need it. They just want it.
