don't believe those lies that only certain grades of fish can be used for sushi

it's a lot cheaper to thaw frozen fish and use that in your sushi rolls

Ramen doesn't taste as good

yeah but its cheaper and faster fam

why go to the restaurant and pay 9.75 for a bowl of real shoyu or miso ramen
when you can just get the imported stuff at the asian market for like 6 bucks and make it 5 times.

I cringe when I see people use the term "sushi grade" on facebook and stuff, first time I tried sashimi I looked up online how to eat fish raw and it's literally just as simple as only buying stuff that was recently thawed. Still haven't gotten sick from eating raw grocery store salmon

I figured sushi-grade referred more to the cut of meat

Fish has to be frozen for a certain amount of time to be considered sushi grade. I think the U.S. it's 30 days at -20F but I don't know off hand. That's to help kill certain bacteria and parasites.

*serious mode*

actually sushi-grade cuts are selected from only the "Best" fish by certain experts, but you're right about the thawed stuff i guess
<_< but as a general rule I only ever freeze (barely) raw tuna for sashimi consumption, and salmon I always buy stuff packaged as sushi-purposed salmon and eat fresh

*unserious mode*

yeah man
just get that freshly microwave thawed tilapia going raw on that rice

Edit: Oh right Anarchy_Jubilex is right. I remembered that I watched Jiro Dreams of Sushi lmfao
