Would you ever live in a city/town where you were the ONLY person of your ethnicity?

22 y/o Kati Pohler was adopted by an evangelical christian family in Michigan after she was ABANDONED by her parents in China..and now Kati is finally reunited with her Parents after using social media to help find them!!

Qian Fenxiang was heavily pregnant who hid herself and her 3 y/o daughter on a housebat in Suzhou Canal away from a homeland and gave birth to Kati who would have been aborted under China's draconian one child policy in 1979 to reduce poverty.

Qian left her baby covered in a vegetable market with a note that said "Our daughter, Jingzhi was born at 10am on the 24th day of the seventh month of the lunar calendar, 1995. we have been forced by poverty and affairs of the world to abandon her. Oh, pity the hearts of fathers and mothers far and near! Thank you for saving our little daughter and taking her into your care. If the heavens have feelings, if we are brought together by fate, then let us meet again on the Broken Bridge in Hangzhou on the morning of the Qixi Fesitival in 10 or 20 years from now"

And now the time has come as Qian and her husband finally laid eyes on their healthy, intelligent ocllege student who attends Calvin College, a private christian liberal arts college.

It was filmed by a TV crew at Broken Bridge to capture the scene as Kati was seen running to her birth parents that will be the subject of a BBC Documentary.

The couple was overwhelmed with guilty after abandoning her but they are happy she grew up fine in a comfortable middle class american home...

Ken and Ruth Pohler were the couple who adopted Kati as they said they always wanted to adopt a 3rd child after already having 2 boys of their own. Their brother in law is chinese and ruth's adopted sister is chinese and felt lucky to have adopted a chinese girl of their own.

In the summer of 1996, they were taken by Bethany Christian Services who showed them a note left by Kati's parents and were moved by the message as the heartfelt message is what motivated them to adopt her and they wouldn't tell Kati about it until she was 18 and if she wanted to know where she came from.

Kati grew up in a town of 7000 people as she was the ONLY Asian AND Minority in the small town with only White People as Kati said it felt weird at first being the only asian girl in that town but was blessed growing up in a "very religious" and "close" family. She grew up loving sports, playing the violin and paino and travelling across America.

In the end, Kati is happy to know where she came from and to know her real parents as she hopes to get to know them more in the coming days...
