I think people would have to actually sell EA stock to do anything though, right? And stockholders have fundamentally different views on microtransactions than gamers. Surely they like them, right? They make them tons of money.

^ they don't care about microtransactions I assume, let alone even know what is going on, especially with many more investments to observe. But if they had an inkling that everyone else was selling stock and they weren't aware yet... and especially if when they looked the stock went down just slightly... that might raise a flag?

And an ethical thought would be people purposely abusing social media for the sake of fear-mongering to encourage shareholders to make such decisions. I am actually glad this is not a thing because it would create a whole wave of being able to change millions of people's opinions through tactical social media propaganda...
