It depends on the nature of the animal, but as a general rule I prefer cats. My disdain for dogs (with some exceptions) and love of birds leads me to believe I was a Mongolian wolf hunter in a past life (they use golden eagles) :P

They get hair everywhere, knock shit down. Constantly have to buy kitty litter and doing kitty litter. They're very territorial and they piss on stuff. it drives me crazy when I sometimes smell piss and it's basically impossible to get rid of

My dog thinks she's a cat if that helps. We had a cat when we first got her as a young puppy. She grew up with the cat. She uses the litter box. We had to return the cat to her original owner because the dog was going to kill the cat though. The cat was so dumb she started the fights with the dog.

Wtf thats not true at all. Maybe if you dont neuter them. My cats have never sprayed anywhere and only use their box. Both males.

And I agree TC. Dont get me wrong, I love dogs too and would own one if my boys would be cool with it. But I prefer cats.

Dog also makes noise to alarm you if someone breaks into your home, cat stays silent, or at least won't make sure to wake you up.

All in all, the dog is a team player. Pack is a pack for dogs, even if its just the two of you.

even if you have "a good one" ie one that's actually playful and affectionate and doesn't hide all the time, the very act of them snuggling on you can hurt you because of their razor sharp claws that they accidentally scratch with and get caught on clothes etc
