I'm bit sceptical about ghosts being real. 7 billion people, cameras have existed in phones for long time now, and yet we have not even one picture of a ghost that is very hard to call bs.

Absolutely not. If there were, we'd see way more ghosts than just the old timey shit we see now and in way more places. Where are the caveman ghosts hanging out in a newly built Baskin Robbins, because that land was used for sacrifices 20000 years ago? Checkmate, atheists.

Yup. Pretty firm believer in creepy/paranormal shit (I've lived in an apartment that had a poltergeist in it). This show has a lot of legitimately weird shit if you're interested:

http://www.travelchannel.com/shows/the-dead-files

Different than really any other ghost show in that they have an actual former detective go into local files and find corroborating information on past residents of the locations they look into.

Absolutely. I work in a church and I see shit out of the corner of my eyes all the time. It's not unreasonable to me for a spirit to stop by the church they were a member of for decades before heading on to what's next.

Ok now that makes a lot of sense. There have been several times when I've been walking past or through the church sanctuary and seen somebody sitting in a pew out of the corner of my eye when it should be empty, turned to looked, and it has been empty.

It's possible.

Here's what I was more meaning: I don't believe in ghosts in the literal "bump in the night" sense, but more as a figure of speech. Such as the saying "a ghost of the past", or "haunting memories". Even after someone dies, the memory of them lives on in the mind of those who are still alive. In that way, I believe in ghosts.

Yea that's usually what happens. Generally nothing to be frightened of really except for the fact you just saw a fucking ghost which is always unnerving lol.

No. I would consider any investigation into it disrespectful and invasive, because there's a columbarium on the premises. When you consider that the place was a regular visit for people AND their human remains are housed there AND their friends still go there, it's kind of no surprise.

Well tell the story

I was about 13 and was heading home, in the back of my friends dad's car, from watching a hokey game with his family. Everyone was asleep, it was probably 10 or 11 at night, except for me (and his dad who was driving lol). We were driving through a country/forest area, and I was just looking out of the window through the treeline when I caught a glimpse of something in the sky. I saw a glowing sphere shape hovering there, with three smaller glowing spheres circling around it in a triangular formation.

It appeared fairly close, and clear as day. I don't know what it was, and I'm hesitant to say "UFO!", but... that's what it seemed like. Of course I blurted out when I saw it, it woke my friend up. I told him about it and he just shrugged it off (honestly, I probably would have too) with "go back to sleep... *grumble grumble*".

Later, I saw a similar depiction in literature. A few drawings illustrating exactly what I saw, and I was like "What. The. Fuck.". Of course, I COULD have been hallucinating, but I thoroughly doubt it. I've never suffered from hallucinations, so it's unlikely that that is what is was. I'm convinced I saw something, but not sure what.

UFO sightings are extremely common. I could definitely buy this. Where did this occur? Location can play a big factor in giving credibility based on how many other sightings happen in the same general area

People don't like to entertain the fact that hallucinations are very real to those who are experiencing it. They literally see things that are not there.

That... doesn't mean anything lol. I'm not saying that I believe in supernatural entities, but more saying how can we know for certain.

If someone says they saw a ghost, there's no way to verify the claim or even really refute it. The idea of them seeing one remains irrelevant to me, unless I saw it too.

Of course, you could use this logic and say "what if someone said they saw a unicorn? Then what?! Huh, huh?!"

Well, ghosts are fairly ambiguous by nature (people have different ideas of what a ghost is), where as a unicorn has physically defined features. Also, when you hear someone say "ghost" they are usually referring to metaphysics, of which I'm not sure how to measure, or if it even exists.

I guess myself and three other people hallucinated a disembodied voice we caught with a voice recorder and re-hallucinate all at the same time every time we play it back

But we can evaluate their mental and physical heath to figure out what is causing their delusions and hallucinations.
