Anyone here read it? It's a fantastic book by Steven Pinker. I'm about 150 pages in and it's hard to put down.
It's an engrossing view of the history of violence and why violence has plummeted throughout our history. It touches on a lot of interesting subjects, like religion, poverty, imperialism, government, marriage, etc. Well-sourced and well-written so far. Highly recommend it. Picked it up for a decent price at the local bookstore. @Balrog0 You might enjoy it --- but Marxist theory is extremely consistent, both internally and with reality. -averagejeol ...
