Curious how you guys, especially the successful CEmen, organize your lives each day. Do you wake up and go to sleep at the same time each day? Do you allocate the same time of each day for reading books/emails you want to catch up on? Is your day highly segmented into a routine or do you just do whatever you feel like doing?

I am super disorganized naturally. I have a few things I keep organized in my personal life. I have cleaning, cooking, working out, finances all planned out. I keep a whiteboard each month with times and whether or not I did it. I used to have great cleaning boards (spinners and shit) from when I had roommates but those slowly got destroyed or lost through moves so now its basically just remembering the cadence. Cooking I plan out meals on Sunday. And finances I have always done a good job planning and scheduling.

I used to be consistent with sleep but now I have days I need to wake up at 5:30 and days I need to wake up at 6:30. That throws off my sleep schedule a bit, so not super consistent.

About half my free time is organized, the rest I just waste. Though as I am getting older I start feeling I need to better use my time and not just play the same game again and again.

6:00 AM up feed dogs
6:10 AM lift
7:00 AM arrive at work
7-8 figure out task list for the day, respond to emails
8-9:30 fuck around
9:30-11 actual work
11-1115 lunch (generally cook on site)
1115-1 fuck around
1- leave on night call days, finish tasks on no call days

Evenings are generally busy. My wife and I go dancing 1-2 nights a week, DnD 2x a week, and I play board games. (Long ones)

There is no hard form for this but we update a physical calendar with all plans for easy reference and do not plan anything without referring to it. Bills and investments go on an auto alertin electronic calendar

I live by a somewhat strict routine. I do this because it helps me stay organized and reduces anxiety about forgetting to do something. I won't go through my entire day, but list some high points that might be relevant.

- I wake up at the same time every single day (weekends included). This pretty much allows me to go to bed at a reasonable hour each night with no deviation. It is VERY important that I get a full 8 hours (or more of sleep) or I am just not well functioning. It also creates a nice experience on the weekend to enjoy an early morning with no work obligations for that day.

- I exercise at a minimum of 5 days a week. I typically run 3-4 miles each day and have gotten into the habit of going for a run if I am in a bad mood because it fixes it.

- I allow myself 1 cheat day a week to eat bad food

- I do something fun any time I want. It can be in the middle of the work day or early in the morning, it doesn't matter. I've found that if I give into doing something fun for a short period of time it can change how I view the day. Want to sit outside for 10 minutes and play a mobile game? Go do it. Want to listen to some live music while I work? I pack up my laptop and go.

- I prep what I can for the next day, on the night before. This has reduced any morning dread I might have because I make it so easy for myself to get my day started. Out of every habit I have for my daily life, this one is probably the most impactful to me.

This is almost my exact routine.

Organisation is that thing other people do. If it weren't for courtesy to others and a desire to not be that guy who springs unwelcome surprises on people, i'd be winging my whole life.
