Police believe the confrontation started as a dispute. Witnesses confirm they heard yelling before the car drove up on the sidewalk. The group was walking at 129th Street and Liberty Avenue in the Richmond Hill neighborhood when they were struck, the NYPD said. Five victims were taken to Jamaica Hospital, police said. One was in critical condition, the others were stable. Two other people went to Jamaica Hospital with stab wounds allegedly stemming from the dispute. Their injuries weren't considered life-threatening. Police had one person in custody for questioning, but said that person wasn't the driver. Police said they were looking for a white Hyundai Sonata.
