My youngest, 11, isn't near as social as the teenager. But he's not emo. Just either watching YouTube or playing something on his N3DS. He's the one I have to make sure he'll get out once and awhile.

Usually coffee since they both have ADHD and take medication for it. The caffeine helps calm them. But thanks for the suggestion, I'll look into it.
