Is it standalone like watching The Avengers without watching all the MCU movies?

Hmm. You'll overall be fine. But there are some subplots that are carried over from the shows. But nothing that will leave you lost or confused.

How much have you watched? It does help being at least familiar with the characters and their relationships.

I disagree with this but I will say that it doesn't really matter. You'll just be like, "huh?" and then see all the other kickass stuff and be able to enjoy the real meat of the show.

You would be fine.

All besides some characters just popping up all of the major issues that would effect the viewing is talked about.

Did you reach Firestorm/Stein?

Yeah that's what I mean really. Like if you care about how people have certain powers or why there are multiple dimensions then yeah sure. But the actual plot itself is pretty standalone outside of Firestorm.

Character relationships and their history are a totally different thing though. But I guess that wouldn't leave you lost.

If you don't care about Arrow one thing you won't give a shit about takes up entirely too much time

Stein joins with a younger guy to make a hero named firestorm . His real powers are off the charts and he should not beat by anyone. But for the show he mostly is just a human torch.

I am not super familiar with the character in the comics. but in the Arrowverse....

originally it was Stein and a white guy. But that guy left or died. I forget. and Stein remerged with a new younger guy, and this one is black.

from what I understand, Firestorm has been multiple people over the years. of different races

To summarize what you need to know.

Flash
- Barry Allen and Iris West are getting married
- Cisco now has powers. He can breach to other locations and dimensions. He also can do some other stuff.
- Caitlin Snow also has powers. She can transform into Killer Frost. She has her own personality that leans towards evil
- They have discovered that there are several Earths with alternate versions of themselves

Arrow
- Oliver has a new Arrow Team including a new Black Canary. Mr Terrific and Mad Dog are the others
- Oliver and Felcity are currently dating after getting back together

Supergirl
- Kara has been grieving over a lost love who had to go away recently. He has recently resurfaced and has lived through 7 years in the future and has remarried. Her sister Alex has also recently broken up with her fiance Maggie. Maggie didn't want kids and Alex did

Legends of Tomorrow
- White Canary (from Arrow) Sara Lance is now the leader of the team
- Rory (Heat Wave from Flash) is now an anti-hero on the team.
- Captain Cold died saving the Legends of Tomorrow. He is Rory's brother
- Stein has a new Firestorm partner in Jefferson. Firestorm is when Stein combines with someone else to create a guy like the Human Torch. After time travel shenanigans Stein created a new timeline where he has a daughter. She recently gave birth to his granddaughter. He wants to retire. They've been working on a formula to separate them while giving Jefferson the Firestorm powers

I think that covers everything you need to know going in/

Thanks for the recap and I'm cool with most of it, but why does everyone in Flash have superpowers now? What was it like an episode of Oprah giveaway? 'You get a superpower, you get a superpower, everybody gets a superpower!'

Meanwhile arrow can't even get his hands on a magical now, feelsbadman

A lot of people in Flash have powers because of a combination of the giant pulse thing that gave a lot of people powers (some of which were dormant) and some time travel fuckery thanks to Barry.

Oh I forgot Iris has a brother called Wally. Who is Kid Flash. So yeah he has powers too.
