hilarious how China is stepping up to plate when America is being dragged backwards by Trump.

When we're in the position China was 30 years ago, and China is the propserity standard of the world, you'll all have republicans to thank for it.

Little girl, I've had lots of jobs in my day. Whale hunter, seal clubber, President of the Fox Network...and...like most people, yeah, I've dealt a little Ivory.

Legalizing the ivory trade would protect elephant populations vastly more than doubling down on a ban.

History shows us the opposite.

A great deal of endangered species were saved by making it harder / more illegal to hunt them.

Bald eagles, various dolphins/porpoises, pandas, etc.

meanwhile leagalized fur trade saw the Sea Mink wiped off the planet in short order.

most ivory is synthetic these days because it's just way too fucking expensive to get real stuff. unless the piano you used was over $10,000 there is a good chance it wasn't real ivory.

Meanwhile, in Wisconsin:

Yes.
Were ivory legal, it would provide an incentive for commercial elephant ranches to exist, and an even stronger incentive to end poaching. May even find something useful to do with the rest of the animal.

China is a big machine and corruption is the grease. Literally anything the govetnment says means nothing, because private business run that country. Just like in America.

it would take like 10x the amount of energy / effort to raise one elephant than it would to raise a cow. Elephants are fucking huge and live insanely long. This is like trying to industrial farm Orcas except elephants are even bigger than orcas.

Nah. They'll be driven into obscure niches of angry old men, as America slips into a European sort of mediocrity.
