An Okay to be White speaker (who I have heard is actually peddling a quite racist message though I have yet to verify) was arrested at a speech at UConn University. The UConn students wouldn't let him speak (supposedly due to the hateful nature of his speech) and basically rioted due to being offended and broke windows and vandalized the setting.

The speaker was arrested for trying to forcibly grab what appears to be his speaking notes that a student came to the podium and took off of him.

In other news:

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/11/29/detective-disciplined-over-because-youre-white-remark-to-teen.html

Officer caught on camera saying a person was being arrested for being "white". It clearly looks like the cop was clearly frustrated and probably just boiled over and said something just to piss the detainees off, but it is probably going to cost that cop his job, especially in this political climate.

Most of what he says is quips and humor.

I mean, you have to understand the person above who said Trump is taking it personally is also the one of the guys who thought Trump was not making a joke when saying The Apprentice should have won the Emmy and was robbed during the debate. Or that he wasn't joking when talking to the kids of the media at the Xmas event.

All three videos are about Muslims though right?

Showing three different attacks by Muslims for three different reasons sends a broader message to me. Now we have three different reasons to not like Muslims.

And even with the best of intentions it's at least irresponsible that people wouldn't make that "connection."

Even if he has the best of intentions (which I still cant figure out what those would be) in posting those videos, its still a very irresponsible thing for the president of the United States to be doing.

Like I said in the other topic, you can find videos of nearly any race or religion attacking and/or harassing any other race or religion. Why post just those ones if not to make the religion of Islam look bad?

He retweeted it. He can't change how the initial publisher labeled it. That said, the video that troubles me is the Virgin Mary one. As by correlation, it makes them all look anti-muslim is nature. The other 2 alone are crimes on platforms he campaigned against. The Virgin Mary one however... Yeah...

I dont use twitter often, but can you not add your own message to the retweet? Something like I may not agree with the published label, but this shows why immigration is bad etc etc? If so, I feel like that states he has no problem with the initial labels.

Not really.

I could see how this came about as a normal person. But, as the President of the United States he should have known how that would look and that the Virgin Mary video while maybe offensive to him really isn't a crime against humanity like the other 2 are... Which allows the easy bridge to formulate that racism was the reason behind his tweets.

I think a lot of what you hear is overblown greatly.

He didn't retweet a video of someone ranting about how all Muslims should die or that surmised that another race was an inferior set of human beings.

I mean, he clearly just retweeted things he found offensive in his opinion. All the videos could cause reasonable offense to a person.

Saying you cannot morally support him is a huge leap. You can justify not supporting him morally if you wish to. Sure. That doesn't mean that justification is entirely accurate though.

Because here is how I can see this harmlessly happening. Someone sends a video to Trump or links a video to him. He clicks on it and watches it. I'll assume the first he retweeted. It offends him so he retweets it. Then backs to their main profile and sees other videos which he watches and retweets the ones he finds offensive.

If they were all from different sources, I would suspect he actually had to of SEARCHED for strings of Muslim videos which is extremely worse in my mind. Stumbling across some videos from a source all in one place versus searching out material is kind of a big difference.

Considering it's been confirmed multiple times that Trump's tweets are official statements from the President of the United States, he either is grossly incompetent and didn't do his due diligence or he did check and was purposefully trying to promote hate.

I'm not sure which is worse.

If he found three videos she posted, he was obviously on her profile. Its right there.

He has had many issues in the past of people calling him out for re-tweeting otherwise innocuous messages from people with hate-filled profiles. Its a lesson he should have learned by now.

I feel like the fact that he looked at the twitter page of the leader of a hate group, watched videos on that page, and consciously decided yep these are videos everyone needs to see, Ill share them! is incredibly concerning.

Again, you can find those types of videos from any side of the playing field, why is he sharing any of those ones in particular if not to put across the message of Islam is bad? Can you say, after seeing those tweets, that Trump has nothing against muslims? Or at best, that hes not trying to appease his fans that dislike muslims?

I thought the Supreme Court already decided that he could do a watered-down version of the 90-day ban (still forcing him to allow close family members and people with valid visas). Which, honestly, seems Constitutionally valid, even if I question his motives.

There is a lot of things in the history of the United States that I would hope the President would have thought not to do or taken 10 seconds to do.

But, yeah, he should not have retweeted those even if he was just offended by them and there was no underlying meaning or not.
