I haven't played Yooka-Laylee yet.

A Hat in Time is wonderful for us PC-in-the-living-room players, since Psychonauts and Hat in Time are the few "legit" choices to choose from.

I love that the levels are all close together, and doesn't feel like much wasted space.

The Time Pieces all have different gimmick to it so far, like they put effort and try to tell a story with each piece rather than just shoving it somewhere.

Unfortunately you don't get the thrill of finding a time piece just by exploring. You will normally do that with yarn and such.

My complaints so far is with the Steam controller, you can't get that right zoom in where you can see the girl well without being able to see through her (requires fiddling with sensitivity settings and the game does not have steam button prompts). My other complaint is... do pons reset every time you re-enter a stage? I would like to just hunt and find all the pons like I did trying to max the notes in Banjo-Kazooie... okay yes, the notes in Banjo-Kazooie were tedious but I love that tedium.
