I thought it was where poor people shop, but a coworker said I'm wrong.

The Aldi near us is fantastic! Cheap prices and great quality food. Probably the best produce around but the meat is lacking. Aldi is our main grocery store.

That's just Aldi.
Pallets plopped right on the floor, and empty boxes everywhere.

Inexpensive. The food isn't bad. The produce is pretty good. You might find a brand name but probably not. It's usually pretty clean and well stocked except Saturday.
And best of all usually no matter how crowded, fast lines.

At least the one near me.

Most of the time it's good

Occasionally we buy one of their brands of cereal or pop tarts and it tastes like exhaust, though.

Aldi is good as a primary grocery store. They'll usually have their in-house version of most products and the quality can be as good as the name-brand counterpart, sometimes better (Their version of Honeycombs and high protein bars comes to mind). They also have name-brand products, which can be cheaper than buying the same product at other grocery stores. A con of Aldi is that their selection is limited compared to other grocery stores, so don't expect to be able to do all your shopping there. Also, if you go make sure to bring a quarter for the cart and don't be shocked when you have to pay for bags. They do the former to save money on having to pay someone to collect carts and the latter to allow them to sell the food for cheaper instead of hiding the cost in the price of the groceries, like other stores.

I have a friend who loves it, me not so much. I don't care for the taste of their store brands.

You'll probably have to just try it.

I buy ground turkey and chicken breast there because it's pretty cheap. I also got their protein powder during the hurricane because I forgot to buy mine online. It was alright.

I use it for basic staples. Milk, eggs, produce, etc are super cheap. The quality of these things doesn't really vary.

Their other stuff is all over the place as far as quality. Their chicken salad and humus are pretty good. Their frozen foods are generally shit.

I especially love their version of peanut butter cups. They come in a bag where they aren't individually wrapped and the peanut butter is much smoother than Reeses. I dont have to waste time fucking around with insane amounts of candy wrappers ever again.

It is the fucking best.

So much cheaper than any other store yet the food is just as good if not better.

One opened up not too far from me, I need to go check what all the hubbub is about.
The company I'm at dropped all of our prices pretty drastically because of Aldi, so it'll be interesting to see the differences

Or just buy a couple of the insulated bags from Aldi. They make up their cost over the course of time and hold more than regular plastic bags.

I find it great for meat, dairy, fruit and veggies. Good for cheap wine. Ok for juices, canned food and stuff in jars. Horrible for bread, cereals, crackers, cake mixes, etc., anything to do with grains or flour.

They sell a spicy marinated hanger steak that I can't get enough of. I'll eat the whole thing.
