I watched the live action movie a couple of days ago for the first time. I basically grew up with the animated version.

I'll say I enjoyed the fact that it was so close to the original including how the songs were very similar, lyrics and even parts where not singing parts in the background were happening at the same time of the song.

That said, I did feel like the animated songs felt like they had a lot more heart and character, if that made sense. Like, the singers really were into the song more than their live action counterparts.

Using Be Our Guest as an example during Mrs. Potts' parts, in the animated version she seemed to be much more enthusiastic and had more range than in the live action version. This could be due to how great Angela Lansbury was, or it could just be my bias.

They were still good versions though.
