I was 8 when I got Ocarina of Time and this was my very first Zelda game, so cut me some slack lol

.

-I had to have someone tell me that you could jump into the web at the bottom of the Deku Tree to break it. It also took me 3 days to beat that dungeon lol

-I literally couldn't figure out to drop bombs into the Dodongo Skull's eyes. Someone had to tell me that too >_>

-I SKIPPED THE MAGIC METER lol For whatever reason, I forgot to go up to the top of Death Mountain and I didn't get it. I didn't go see the fairy until after I beat the Fire Temple and it was by chance >_>

- I didn't get the Sun's Song until the Shadow Temple and only by chance when I was leaving the Shadow Temple cuz I was stuck in there lol

-I spent 200 rupees on a fish in Zora's shop because I didn't know you could just catch them outside the shop...

-Died at Lon Lon Ranch in the daytime cuz I ran into a gold skultula from the tree a bunch of times trying to hit it

-For the life of me, I got really really stuck on Forest Temple and couldn't find the Bow, so I ended up skipping it and ended up beating the Fire Temple and Ice Cavern, and even did some of Water Temple without the bow and arrow before going back and finally getting the bow and beating Forest Temple lol

-Obviously I got stuck on the Water Temple for a long long while >_>

-I didn't get the Fire Arrows until I got to the Spirit Temple.

-For whatever reason, I didn't know how to get to the well and got stuck at the start of the Shadow Temple for like a week until someone told me about the well and the lens of truth.

-Missed out on the Ice Arrows and Farore's Wind completely. Got stuck on the Bunny Hood for the Mask Sidequest and (thus never got the Mask of Truth). Got stuck on the Blue Cucco for the Biggoron sidequest (thus never got the Biggoron sword. Just had a broken Giant's Knife the whole game lol) and never got the 50 Quiver nor the 40 Bomb Bag. Never even upgraded my Deku Sticks and Nuts either at all.

-Didn't even know Bombchu's were even a thing until I got stuck on a puzzle in Spirit Temple and had someone tell me what to do.

.

Thoughts on dumb babby Neon stumbling through OoT? I think it took me almost 2 years to reach the end and beat Ganondorf lol >_>

I was like five and I could barely read or understand anything so I just fucked around on the other files from people who had previously rented it.

I can't remember that far back. I do remember needing a friend to beat the alien invasion part in MM for me first playthrough

First time, I got to Gohma, died immediately, turned the system off and didn't touch it again for a solid year.

2D to 3D wasn't a smooth transition for me.

Im surprised you remember that much about it.

When kid I was generally okay at the game, but redeads scared me so I basically stayed away from parts with them. I only beat the game on my own from start to finish when I bought it on the 3DS :/

I had Nintendo Power so I breezed through the beginning of the game.

Then I didnt know how to open Dodongos cavern till a friend borrowed it and beat it in three days.

Then I got stuck in the water temple and didnt finish the game until like three years later. >_>

Ya'll all did better than me.

I didn't get past Mido because I didn't know the difference between equipping a sword and just having one.

I was 15 and it took me a month of playing every single day after school.

I remember one thing I could not figure out for the life of me was to play The Song of Storms as a kid to drain the well... a friend at school had to tell me to do that, I was stuck for days.

That sounds like a great playthrough actually. These days I'm so obsessed with making sure I have everything, a lot of games become too easy.

I spent a half hour on Gohma and still died. I swear that thing had infinite life back then. I basically deku nut and then ran up and slashed once. I did this at least 15 times (many times unsuccessfully) and he never fucking died.

My one playthrough (as an adult) was a mess. Sone of you guys might even remember the topic.

I talked to the townsperson who said there's a secret entrance to the right of the castle, and found the fairy cave to the right of the castle. Since trying to go up the road toward the castle resulted in getting thrown out, I assumed the cave was the secret entrance and spent hours searching the overworld for bombs. Or rather, for a bomb bag. All the fifth gen games I'd ever played use a slope of a different color as invisivle walls. CE had to tell me I could go on the grass. =/

In all that time I forgot about the owl guy tellibg me where Zora's Domain was, or even that there was a Zora's Domain, and since the minimap has a little opening that looks like a glitch to indicate it, I guessed "Zora's domain" was a general term, like "where the Zoras hang out" or something. So I spent hours trying to find King Zora in Lake Hylia, since it was the only place I had seen any Zoras. CE had to help me again.

I got Epona pretty much immediately after going adult and used her to jump over the missing bridge toward the desert. Confident that this meant I was supposed to go this way, I got kidnapped and spent hours trying to sneak around with the unupgraded hook shot and the bow and arrow. CE had to help again.

I remember getting stuck in the ice cave forever too but don't remember why.

I never did figure out how to beat Dark Link. It just... happened after a hundred tries. I think I used the hammer because it seemed to have the best chance of hitting him and I just got in however many lucky hits you need to win.

By the time I got to the end, I really hated that game.

I remember I'd ask people at my school for help or they would come over and help me on some games or I'd go look through a guide at the mall if the book wasn't open.

How did you beat the fire temple without a bow? Aren't there a couple of eye switches in there?

iirc, there's only 1 and it leads to a dungeon map. Plus I think you can climb over the fence from the otherside anyway to get the map >_> I just used the hookshot for range combat in there otherwise lol

That's one of the reasons I like it better than MM. If you get stuck on a dungeon, you can start another one.
