Yeah politics fucking suck because we always have to toss others into a group with a label after they say one damn thing and then they get all the baggage associated with that group whether they believe any of it or not.

Social media and the internet, I'm convinced that's the issue almost entirely.

Difficult to even want to understand someone if you know everything about their political views before you know anything else about them, and yet that's how internet arguments work.

Also difficult to be angry at someone you like when you finally find out their political views - that's how most real life interactions work.

Easy to avoid meaningful confrontation and resolution altogether on the internet when there are so many more pleasant distractions.
