I think despite it being kinda silly, it's nice to have that official "proof", so to speak.

If you're young (or young at heart <3) then why not? The only downside is when you're identity is too tied to your social media profile and you end up looking like an ass... A guy I know got dumped, changes the status, begs his ex to take him back for a few days (I assume) with many emo messages pointing out that they broke up, followed by her somehow getting roped back in, and it's all smiles and sunshine on his profile again until she perma-dumps him a month later.

I think it's very unnecessary. I would rather not do it, but if the girl wants to, I guess I'd be fine with it. My friends know about my relationship. Anyone who doesn't, isn't someone I talk to.

I think I'm just not looking forward to people commenting about it once it's in my timeline. I rarely post on Facebook is the thing. I haven't done a status change in over a year, recently changed my profile picture after 4 years, etc.

If you're into social media you'll love it. That's the extreme. Everything else works its way back from there.

Well, my wife and I have been together for like seven years, so it'd be more awkward if we didn't.

Feel like shit to be honest. I don't care to do things like that, but my girl does so fuck it whatever.

I think it depends on where you met a girl. Like, lonnnng ago I ended up in a situation where I went on a couple dates with a chick from a dating site, and I honestly thought I was in, only to find out she was still going on dates with other dudes on the site because we weren't exclusive/official.

That's just it though. Facebook official is basically just the modern equivalent of being "exclusive". They're the same concept, so even if you're against a status change on FB, you have to have the same conversation anyway, just with a different term.

We met on tinder and we've had that talk and are exclusive. It's been almost 4 months

I mean if that convo came and went and neither of you changed the status, there's not really any point then.

Yeah ive got the ssame attitude as you towards it. I didn't care enough about facebook to accept the dumb request and there was plenty of heated drama over it all so I just did it to shut her the fuck up.
