After getting 29 in the last run and finding out talking to NPCs counts as a jump, he got right to the end without talking to anyone (except Toadette at the end to get the tally) or jumping.

That's nice and all but is he still attracted to little girls

It's important to note the one jump was NOT Toadette; there's a trick to talk to NPCs without incrementing the jump counter. The one jump is from elsewhere in the run.

Either I accidentally jumped, or there's something else that triggers jumps we're not certain about. My bet is on the third time Mario is laying on the ground and you're forced to press the jump button to get up. The first two times Mario has unique animations, but the third time he seems to do a totally normal jump.
